Daan van Eek became a lawyer in 2009. Since April 2011 he works for Hoogenraad & Haak. Next to his LLM degree, he graduated in Communication- and Information Sciences (BA). He studied partly in Melbourne, Australia at the Deakin University. During his time at the Utrecht University Daan worked for the Centre for Intellectual Property Law (CIER). He was as lecturer involved in several courses provided by the CIER and he collaborated in publications and research projects. Next to this, Daan was assistant to the editorial board of the Dutch leading journal in Intellectual Property, ‘Intellectueel Eigendom en Reclamerecht’ (IER).
Daan is humorous, is open and careful and believes in a strong personal relationship with his clients. In his spare time Daan likes to be on the water, for (kite)surfing.
Daan has published in several professional journals. He is a member of several (inter)national professional associations, such as the Dutch Association for Copyright Law (VvA), the Dutch Association for Advertising Law (VvRr) and the BMM.
