Internet companies in Europe don not have to disclose the names of people who illegally download music. This was decided by the European Court of Justice in the case between the Spanish copyright association Promusicae and the internet company Telefónica. Promusicae requested that Telefónica would provide all names and addresses of people exchanging music through Kazaa. The Court's decision makes the chasing of illegal downloading even more difficult.
