The new organic logo is green, with the familiar 12 stars in the shape of a leaf. As of July 1 it should be printed on organic products which are officially allowed to use the term ‘organic’ and which are new on the market.
However, it is allowed to sell out the existing stock. Basically it is always green in colour (Pantone 376) but if the packaging is not in colour, the logo can be in black print. The logo is the result of a competition among European students in graphic design.
The public has selected this logo as best through an Internet election. It is now registered as a collective mark for organic farming at the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property.
European Regulations on the EU organic logo will handle specific dimensions.
So, we will have a unique and recognizable 'bio logo'.
